Culinario Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of the Culinario mobile app (the "App", "we"). By installing and using the App you accept these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the App.

How we handle your data is described separately, in the Privacy Policy.

1. What the App does

Culinario recognizes food in a photo of your fridge and suggests recipes you can cook from what you already have. The paid tier additionally offers calorie estimates, a personalized multi-day meal plan, and a conversation with an AI nutrition coach.

Recognition, recipe matching, and coach replies are generated automatically using artificial intelligence and may contain inaccuracies. You can always correct the recognized list manually before recipes are matched.

2. Your account

The App requires registration. You agree to provide a valid email address and are responsible for keeping access to your account secure.

The App is not intended for anyone below the age at which they can enter into agreements of this kind on their own under the laws of their country.

3. Plans and limits

The App is available on a free tier and a paid tier (Culinario Pro). The tiers differ in the monthly limit on fridge scans and in the features available.

Current limits and tier contents are shown in the App and on the subscription screen. We may change limits and tier contents; where a change would worsen the terms of an active subscription, we will give notice in advance.

The limit is counted per calendar month and resets on the first day of the following month. Unused scans do not carry over.

4. Culinario Pro subscription

• The subscription is purchased as an in-app purchase through the App Store and is an auto-renewable subscription.
• The price and subscription period are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm; the final price in your currency is set by the App Store.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account upon confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically for the next period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Managing the subscription and turning off auto-renew is done in your Apple Account settings. We have no technical means to cancel your subscription on your behalf.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies. We do not process payments and do not issue refunds ourselves.

5. Important: information is for guidance only

The App is not a medical service. Recipes, calorie estimates, meal plans, and AI coach replies are informational, generated automatically, and are not medical, dietary, or other professional advice.

Calorie figures are approximate estimates and should not be relied upon where accuracy is required (for example, with conditions that demand strict dietary control).

The App does not account for your individual health circumstances, allergies, or intolerances. Before changing your diet — especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or take medication — consult a doctor or a qualified dietitian.

You are responsible for judging whether the food you intend to use is safe: the App identifies items from a photo and cannot assess their expiry date or condition.

6. Recipes and content rights

The recipe database is assembled from publicly available sources with a reference to the original. Rights in the source material belong to their respective owners.

If you are a rights holder and believe that material has been published in a way that infringes your rights, contact us at the address in section 9 — we will review the request and remove the material where appropriate.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App in ways intended to circumvent technical limits or place excessive load on the service, including:

• automated requests to the service that are not part of ordinary use of the App;
• attempts to bypass the limits of your plan;
• uploading material that breaks the law or infringes the rights of others.

If these conditions are breached, we may restrict or terminate access to the App.

8. Limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, the accuracy of food recognition, or the results of automatically generated recommendations.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights or our liability where such a limitation is not permitted by the law of your country.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be published in the App with its effective date. By continuing to use the App after the changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
